A note on unsigned builds
These binaries are not code-signed or notarized (signing certificates cost money, and this is a free project), so your operating system will warn you the first time you run it. That’s expected, and it only comes up once.
Windows
SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway.
macOS
After unzipping, move PlayOverlay.app to Applications, then right-click it and choose Open, and confirm once at the prompt. If macOS still reports the app is damaged, remove the quarantine attribute it added to the download and open it again:
xattr -cr /Applications/PlayOverlay.appIf you’d rather not trust an unsigned binary, you can build PlayOverlay yourself from source, see the building from source instructions in the README.
